Hundreds of years ago, magic flowed throughout the world of Thera. Man and nature were as one, with kingdoms capable of harnessing the very elements. As generations passed on, the magic of the world grew weak.
Now, humans are as they might be in our own world, possessive and reliant on the notion of power and little else. Once great monarchies crumble, and the lands of Lelios and Analon are nearly at the brink of war. Great beasts roam the Tamaron Clanlands, the ghostlands that once housed powerful tribal nations.
Eddard Gyffes, the king of Analon, is dying. His son, the bookish and untried Tristan, is considered by some to be too inexperienced a ruler to take on his father's crown and court. His elder sister Helanna, a veteran of skirmishes with local lands and a skilled huntress in her own right, has been gaining popularity. But is Helanna truly the best for the kingdom, or will she merely force the lands into an unbridled war with those that should be allies?
Beyond the Clanlands, Lelios houses troubles of its own. A young scholar with visions of the future has seen the downfall of the kingdom if peace is not made with Analon. Sent out from the lands as an outcast and heretic, she has traveled to Analon in hopes of rectifying the bleak premonitions before they can come to fruition.
